38C

Canberra Weather...

Low of 20C and high of 38C! The heat was soooo intense today, scorching, searing, sweltering, and every word which implies that it is hot here! And i think it's hotter in my room than outside. How i wish the heater unit woulld just magically transform into an air conditioner.

But nevermind that.. it's summer. i'v to learn to complain less 0 esp since news came my way that Wgtn had one of the coldest Decembers in 50 yrs! Apparently it's 10C there, and some even have to resort to using the heater in the middle of summer!

The end of summer research seems to be coming at the speed of lightning! And I have yet to start on my 2-5 page report about what I have done so far. Shdnt be too hard once I do enough background research which i shd have done a long time ago. You see, I took on the project from a postDoc. So, he's already done all the research. But anyway like i have been telling my friends here, summer would be yet another page turned, but of course with wonderful memories!

Ok, i better get some work done b4 i fall asleep. Shall endeavour to update pics on my trip.

Lindt Chocolat Cafe

For all you chocolate lovers out there....

Lindt Chocolat Cafe - Sydney

It would be an absolute crime if you are in Sydney and have not been to the Lindt Chocolat Cafe! Set up in 2004, this is the first ever Lindt Cafe in the world, and it literally swept all of us off our feet! Most of us had the Iced Dark Chocolate, which was oh-so-rich. The Chocolate Milkshake was a sensation as well, creamy, full, and heavenly! We were literally walking out of the cafe on a chocolate-high! Any mention of Lindt, and you will get dreamy eyes staring back at you!

On a totally contrasting and pensive note, home seems so far away. Beyond physical proximity, everything seems so far away, too long ago. Especially friends and things which revolves around their lives.

happy belated birthday sharon!!

Sorry i didnt wish u earlier.. havnt been online much..

So now.. all's done!  A whole pile of NMRs, and MSs have been handed to my supervisor, along with my log book, and my report, which i'v been slaving at for 3days! Shd have started on it a long time ago, but there was no motivation for it, and of course, the motivation is the DEADLINE! But sure enough, the satisfaction after that was beyond words. And it's good to know that I was able to "report" on my summer work, which goes to prove (for myself more than  anyone else) that this summer was not put to waste. But that was mixed with sadness because last Thurs was my last day at work. We had after-work drinks as usual and I even had tears in my eyes when I said farewell to 2 of the girls in the lab, whom I've gotten close to! It sucks to say goodbye. Though 2 months is a relatively short period, it is long enough to make friendships that you know would have blossomed if you had more time there. And I so want to be with them at Adelaide now, cos the whole group flew over there for a national Chemistry Conference!! Oh well, the thought that my supervisor actually considered paying for us to attend the conference was good enough, i guess.

Anyway.. gotta get going, gonna hve a swim at the pools. The heat here is so intense (sorry ping, i knw u wish u were here). So I guess I only have these 2 days to cover whatever i havnt seen in Canberra. Believe it or not, I might actually miss it. Not the place, but the people! Will be leaving Canbr early Monday morning, and I'll be hopping between countries for the next 3 days, before I get back to Msia on Thurs! Cant believe i have a 12 hr transit AGAIN in Changi! Ying ying!! Are u in Spore? Im not sure if i can leave the airport.. but.. it'l be so utterly boring!!

Changi

Bleh... Wish i could go home now instead of a stinking 12 hr transit! Yeah.. I'v arrived in changi. The 10 hr flight from Auckland was actually ok, in terms of service, afterall, it's Sing Airlines! Watched a couple of movies, and luckily there was no one sitting directly next to me, so I had a bit more space. But there was such bad turbulence the whole trip here... oh well... Im looking forward to home home home!!!

 OK.. better ring Ying now..

See u all some time soon!
